Alright here is my issue. I purchased a 72 Comet that had both drivers side door and rear quarter glass broken out. I was recently able to pull parts off a 69.5 Maverick to include the quarter glass and door in its entirety. I replaced the quarter glass portion no problem. The glass I removed from the Maverick door is correct for my Comet door, holes line up and everything is good. The problem i am having is with the clip/fastener that holds the glass to the bar ==O=========O== inside the door. It requires two fastners and I cannot find them locally. I was able to salvage one from my origional door but I didn't want to risk breaking the glass to save a fastner. I tried Oreillys first - super unhelpful. Then Advanced Auto Parts - equally unhelpful Then Napa - the guys there were helpful and looked through a book to compare the one I dad to ones they had available but they couldn't find a match. Finally sold me something they said should work but definately didnt. I was disappointed I couldnt finish up this task completely today but I don't want to rig it, I need the correct clip. What clip/fastener do I need and where can I get it?
Try asking Craig Selvey....I have bought these from him before. He has the Factory ones. If Craig runs out...this place has a limited supply of Blue ones: I know that both the ones from Craig, and Mr G's are correct, so you don't have to worry about buying them again, and them being wrong.
Hey Cactusgrabber I would just like to say that your post was very thorough and informative. I couldn't have asked for a better answer to my questions and you even provided two sources! Awesome and thank you thank you thank you! Craig, I will be e-mailing you later this afternoon after I am finished with work. I appreciate your time.
