I remember reading somewhere about the rear ends in the 4 doors. That they were the integral type. That is the type that have an inspection cover. Mine has the 8 inch.Is this normal for a 74 Comet?

    Only early 70 models had a 7.5 inch integral ... it was 8 inches from 71 up ... 2-door and 4-door ...

Except for that factory stock one with the 351w, 4 speed, and 9" that some guy was telling me about last time I was out.

    Matt,
They are right, you have an 8 inch rear as most Mav/Comets 71-77.
Man, you need a set of seals for that one.
    Welcome to the board.

Had a guy tell me that he had a 69 Shelby GT500 with a factory 4 speed automatic. ( I guess if you count reverse he would be right)

Thanks Guys. Man,Littleredtoy, yer not kidding!!! The car need allot more then just that. Not that it is bad, just very used. NO RUST, and runs great, so no complants. Any idea what the gearing would be in this car. It is a 250 6cyl. with AT.
