It sounds like you need to replace the motor. Any parts house has them. Its a pain to replace cause its a tight squeese with the hands.

All I can say is it was the first part that was put on the assembly line and the rest of the car was built around it or maybe I just need to lose weight, I don't know what else fits but my brother has a 67 mustang that he drag races so he stripped all of that off and the motor from it is the same as mine, just swaped the arm on the motors.

I still not sure how to post , but here goes. Im not sure what to do on my comet the wipers work but they do not return to the down position when you turn them off . Does this mean the motor is bad or the switch or maybe it iin the wiring, can anyone help with this.

    Thanks

Is this on a Maverick or a 1966 Comet?

Stop the wipers by turning off the ignition switch when the wipers reach about 90* from the park position. Connect jumper wires as shown. If the wipers park correctly with the jumper wires in place then the switch is bad. If the wipers fail to park with the jumper wires in place then it’s the motor.

It doesn't matter, the wires colors are in the same family
