I have a 75 Mav and there is a gaping 8 inch diameter hole on the driver's side where the hat should be in the cowl- or does there have to be a hat on that side?

If it is factory AC...There shouldnt be a cowl vent on the drivers side at all.

Yep...No hole on the driver's side either on a factory AC car.

There is a cowl vent on the passenger side.

If you have a "gaping 8 inch diameter hole" on the driver's side....is it from rust?
