Just curious if anyone has applied Rubberized Undercoating to the bottom of thier car? What does it look like? Post pics if you have them. Im thinking of sandblasting the bottom of my car and spraying underneath not only for looks but to help prevent more rust.

i have it..and would NEVER do it again, its nasty crap if you have to try and get it off to do something...welding and what not. never again honestly if i did it again id use some strong industrial paint..looks clean and easy to grind off incase something needs to be done...just my opinion though.

I'm not familiar with it.. Just did some reading on it and seems like some decent stuff, I wouldn't recommend painting over rust like they said though have you tried a search to see if anyone's used it before?

Search POR15 and Rust Bullet, a number of members have used it.

I tried POR15 and one thing I didn't like was that where it went over good clean metal it stayed rubbery, where I put it over rust(you know, not dirty flaking rust, wire brush cleaned rust) it got hard and bonded great. The same type of metal with Rust-Bullet cures and gets hrad and bonds everywhere it is put. So.....like Frank I like Rust-Bullet better.

Yeah i was just looking it up. Seems decent and you have to scrap everything and get it really clean or it doesnt work right. Heard a lot of good things about rust bullet too. Decisions decisions.

I use POR 15 on everything. Never had any issues. Just follow their instructions, get some Marine Clean, and Metal Ready, they are the proper prep.

I just painted the handle on a snowblower I'm fixing up, and it's on there, just remember...if you use it, don't get it on your skin! It'll be there at least a week.

Im testing a product from SEM The guys down here swear by it, a shop down here sells it for almost half of the price of POR 15.

What is it? If it's as good as the rest of the stuff they make, it's worth a try.

Ill check the name and post it tonite, the kind I have is a Build up also.
The same shop sells a product called metal prep for 14.99 a quart, you mix it 3to1 with water so you end up with a gallon. Its safe it disolves rust and strips paint. This time im going to use a pond pump with pvc to pump it over the body parts. I love the stuff works great.

Its called "Chassis Saver" they also sell a reducer so it can be sprayed. It comes in colors but has no UV Blockers in it so it must be painted or sprayed with clear. I bought #99 High Build Jet Black.
