So on the way home in the Mav tonight... A fellow pulls up along side on the HWY and shouts is that a Pinto?? Give him the usual confused look so he repeats himself. I shouted Maverick. Few miles up the road we get to a stop light so he leans out the window with his Ipad and shows it to me. He says "now I know what a Maverick is thanx, Nice car". Now for my response to his Ipad. When he shows it to me its a picture of A Maverick full screen. I started to laugh and said "yep but my car is way nicer and faster than that one" LMAO. It was Pinky. He didnt get my joke but I got a hell of a good laugh to myself. Joking of course. This was one the most memorable things thats happened to me as far as comments on the car goes. Kind of ironic since that same pic he pulled up of Pinky was the pic that got me thinking about buying a Maverick again a few years back after a Google search late one night. Little while later I had a guy almost drive up the curb on a right turn why he honked the horn to give me a thumbs up. God I love this car.
Maybe you shold leave the car at home before you cause an accident. You got people driving up curbs and google searching with their ipad while driving. I miss those days of crazy onlookers and street light props. Time to get my car on the road some more.
Thats hilarious, it seems like every time I do an image search for anything that has to do with a Maverick Pinky pops up, My most memorable experience isnt quite that exciting but this past spring my wife and I went to a rather large local cruise nite, parked the car and noticed a group of 5 Willy's gasser cars coming in (all of which are friends of mine) and parked all around my car, (keep in mind that these are $100,000+ cars), the Mav had people all around it and the guys were giving me a hard time about it when a spectator came over to us and asked who's Willy's car that was, my friend Mike says its mine, the guy says " would you mind moving it so we can get a picture of that Maverick".... They all moved their cars and wont park near me anymore.
Thats what I thought when this guy started shouting at me. Crap whats leaking or falling off my car. LOL.
Last friday I stopped by 7-11 when I got off work (2:00 AM) to get a cup of coffee, when I walked out I found 2 guys walking around looking in my car and such, started getting real paranoid till they saw me walk out and then they had to come over and talk to me about the car. They work in one of the other companies by my work and they finally happened to catch up with me, to look at my car.
