Does anyone have or know where I can get a blueprint of the Ford Maverick? I want to build a 3d Maverick and need the prints, hopefully with front, side and rear.
Agreed. I'm sure they exist in the basement of the Ford Archives, in Dearborn, Michigan, but it is nearly impossible to get access to that stuff. I've talked to the Jim Osborn team, down in Georgia, and they are the ONLY ones, that I know of, that have had limited access to that stuff, to reproduce the Mustang Body and Chassis Assembly Manuals....and they no longer have access. There is only one member on here that even has a Body Manual for the Maverick, in 1971, 2 door. The original drawings that were used to make the Jim Osborn Mustang sets, were not the same size as their finished product. They used larger, prints from Ford, that were fastened with large staples on one end. You would need the prints and dimensions for the Maverick, and then you would have to have AutoCad LT, and know how to meticulously draw all the sections, in MODEL SPACE, before creating the individual layouts in PAPER SPACE, in 2D, before converting to 3D. I have experience with AutoCad. This would be a huge undertaking, and take a lot of man hours.
So no one wants to pull a burn notice and sneak into Ford and steal the plans for me? lol. I'm using Silo and Cinema4d to do the Modeling. I guess I'll just have take a lot of photos of my car, convert the photos to drawing and then start modeling. My thought is that with a good model I can play with paint ideas. Plus there is no good model of a maverick that I've been able to find.
