I went to a JunkYard today, and wasn't looking for these, but was lucky enough to find these Factory "early style 71-72" Rear Vinyl Trim pieces for $ 20. These are hard to find, and I've seen them sell very high in this condition. These were in MINT condition, setting out here in the Arizona low humidity heat. These are different than the After Market versions of these pieces, and I didn't know this until I bought a separate set last year, and Craig Selvey pointed out to me that my first set was Aftermarket. The Factory ones look better, and are made of Chromed Pot Metal, and they do NOT bend. If you bend these...they will break. Also, the end that meets the rear quarter window has a fancy pointed end. The Factory ones also have the 3 mounting studs, bonded to the Pot Metal on the back. The Aftermarket one's are made of either polished aluminum, or stainless steel...not for sure which. The Aftermarket ones don't have the fancy pointed end, and the mounting studs are held in the back channel by a combination of spring loaded bolts, and push-in plastic clips. Hey Resto, there are several good junkyards scattered all over Arizona, but this particular one happened to be Desert Valley, in Phoenix. Alot of local guys limit how much they go there because of their high prices... ....but if you go there alot they sometimes will give you a price break, for being a regular customer. I personally have had good luck with them, and there are a bunch of great guys that work there. You can see them on their Discovery Channel show called: Desert Car Kings. Alot of the guys on the show are the ones that usually help me. I hope this helps.
Also if you go there MAKE SURE to let them know you are local, the prices go way down when your a regular customer and local. out of town prices= get out your checkbook, this is going to hurt Local prices = still overpriced but bearable for hard to find items regular customer= prices that are junk yard pricing I have been going there on and off for 8 years, I can get different prices on THE SAME PART depending on the day of week, weather temperature, humidity, and weather or not it rained in last 60 days. Big ticket items I just keep trying until I can justify the price
Ive watched DVAPs show it seems like they were decent enough. Ive called them a few times looking for certain parts, prices always high over the phone. I know one day Im just gonna have to Bite The Bullet. Back in the 70s I used to drive up to Broadway for Chubby stuff.

Hey Markso.....hahahha......depending on if you have bad rust....or only slight pitting....it is pretty easy to get these, and other trim pieces looking BRILLIANT. I was pretty fortunate that this set had absolutely NO marks or pitting. There are alot of good threads on here lately, where some of the other members are giving away their secrets on shining up the factory trim pieces. Sometimes different methods, depending on whether it's chrome, anodized aluminum, or polished stainless steel. There are some methods for polishing out slight pitting. This would be a good topic for one of the members on here to do a tech article on.
