I'm Jealous Of Whoever Bought This 73 Orange and White Grabber Years Ago: This sold a few years ago from a tow lien place in California, so it is NOT a current, or recent item. This 1973 California White and Orange Grabber sold a "few" years ago, for $ 999 back then, and it had the V8 with auto floor shift. This was nearly identical to my 73 Grabber that I owned years ago. Differences and similarities to my old one: 1. Mine had the 250 six cyl, instead of the 302 V8, like this one. 2. Both mine and this one had the orange Halo vinyl roof. 3. Both mine and this one had the auto floor shifter. 4. My interior did not have the gray inserts in the seats and door panels, mine was all Orange vinyl on the door panels and seats. 5. Mine had orange carpet, while this one looks like black. 6. Same steering wheel on both. So whoever owns this one...I'm Jealous!!!! I would love to have this one...dents and all.
The grey on the seats and door panels is not original. That car has been hit pretty hard in the rear. It would take a lot of frame work to get is straight again.
I don't think it was anyone here that bought it, I have the same pictures of it saved. I think the interior faded, and the sun just makes it look greyish, plus it has been redone at some point. Plus the top material had been replaced, there were no seams from the factory. Here's a picture of my White & Orange 74 Grabber shortly after I bought it. Back then my 1988 5.0L Mustang was my daily driver. I bought it new and should have kept it, like I did the Maverick..and my wife's Camaro...(before we were married)
Here's a nice shot, if you like the Orange: (this is a 74, they had black carpet, and integral shoulder belts)
Look at the pictures Roger posted. It looks to me that the same type of greyish material is also used on the door panels. Has red lines going down thru the center of the material.
I had one of those. It had 30,000 miles and was definately the ugliest vehicle I have ever owned, but it was a REAL Grabber. Pulled the 302 & C4 to put into a Ranger and junked it out after pulling the V8 stuff, mirrors, wheels, and spoiler.
Any time you want to reminisce Roger just come on over and I will let you look at mine in the garage. LOL Love the color combo though mine was originally column shift, with bucket seat, no halo, and black carpet. Mine even has the same mismatched front drivers fender due to my brother in laws short temper 10 years ago LOL
Hahaha....yeah Adam...I might just have to do that! I love that color combo. You should bring it to our next Desert Mav Meet!
Mine is a jackstand queen After few beers its even a jackstand Racer Its just to hot in the garage to work on it right now, need it to cool down some so I can get back to work on it again.
Don't sweat it Adam....my 72 Grabber runs...but it has also been a jackstand queen for awhile...slow restoration. This is partly why I am looking for another to drive now!
