Well, I now have definate forward progress. I got the new radiator in, installed the shroud, and can now cruise in traffic at 175 degrees. I ran it pretty hard for a good while, and never got above 180. This is great. Before, I could not sit at a redlight for more than 15 seconds without hitting 200-210. So this is a BIG improvement. As for the other stuff.......All I can say about the Crane Cams ignition swap is.......WOW:eek: What a difference. It revs and holds so smoothly, it's like a totally different car. The only thing that is bad is the performance due to timing and carb. Can anyone tell me how to tune an
Edelbrock Performer 650? I have no clue. This thing just creeps off of the line like it has a 2 stroke. Barely moving. Mid-top end is decent but nothing to brag about. My 2 bbl iron intake and motorcraft combo were much better. Any suggestions on timing and carb tuning?? I need some help badly. Oh, by the way, I have a Holley Street Dominator intake if it'll make a difference. Thanks guys and gals. Take care now! Preston

You will run into these sorts of problems if your parts are mismatched. While you now have a good intake and carb on there, if you have stock heads, it won't really matter because the stock heads can only flow so much. It's the same thing with those little adapters that let you put a 4 barrel carb on a 2 barrel intake, you will probably end up getting a slower car than what you had inititally because at least initiallly the parts were made to go together. That's my 2 cents on your problem.

If I am thinking right (if) , you can put in bigger metering rods (spelling sorry?) and it will let less fuel past the jet(s) = more low end torque + better gas milage.

Good luck and happy tuning (y) .
