Maverick Taxi Cab Package

I just want to see how a factory one would look like, I have one from a Tempo right now. But it looks out of place in a 70's car.

 

Someone should have a parts break down for 77, I'll have to check my Ford parts book.

Wow...very interesting Craig.

I believe this would be the only Maverick, to come with the newer style voltage regualtor, that used solid state electronics, as opposed to the older, electro-mechanical style voltage regulators, that were used on all the other Mavericks/Comets.

Ford started phasing the newer electronic/solid-state voltage regulators, into their lines in 1978. So this Maverick Taxi was ahead of it's time, for Ford production cars, on it's charging system.

The electro-mechanical style voltage regulators, used on the rest of our Mavericks and Comets, have relays inside, with vibrating points contacts, that control current to the field winding, by pulsing the output around 200 times per second.

 

My car came with a recovery bottle and a washer jug! I thought everyone had the same.

My guess is that it is not original and/or factory.

 

maybe not but the power line for the washer is tied in the harness, and the recovery bottle still had the rubber line attached. when i removed it the bolt holes where not rusty, nor did they show signs of after mkt install. My first 74 only had washer jug. but this car had drag slicks on it, and im preety sure its a mandatory to have a recovery jug at the strip.
