My 1970 Maverick is champagne gold and i was wondering if anyone had restored their Maverick to this color and if they could post a pic for me to see... I am thinking racing stripes and original color- the other option i would like is the medium lime met, so if you have any pics of either color that would be GREAT! Thanks, Abby
S code? That would be "Good Clean Fawn" for a Maverick and Champagne Gold Metallic (or poly depending on what chip chart you read) for all the other Fords from 1970. Lighting and what color car you are next to makes a big difference in the way this color looks. From a pewter-ish green to a deeper gold like nugget gold. Here are a couple pictures from the roundup.
Look in the model year paint book at an automotive paint store. My 70 Torino GT was that color. It was my High School Muscle Car. I was thinking of painting my 73 Mav that color.
That was my 70 Maverick's original color With all of the spray bombs and replacement parts over the years it was hard to find a photo showing any of the original gold paint
Craig, that Fairlane is gorgeous! thanks for that- I think we have decided to go with the gold! :bananaman
I didn't restore this car to gold but bought it this way. After I started working on it I discovered that its original color was brown. I have a good feeling that after I restore the car a bit, I'll probably repaint it to dark red.
I think the red is awesome too, but I'm really feeling the gold and black stripes... Good luck with the restore!
Abby you really got me jazzed about the gold. I was sitting in my car this morning and I realized it has a perfect blue dash. I think Im gonna have to do an eye popping Metalic Cobalt blue with Carbon, and a Silver Gray Engine Bay and underside. My Deadline is my God Sons Senior Prom this Spring.:bananaman
