before you guys gimme a bunch of crap for being on the wrong forum...lemme just say this: i've had a maverick before, i'm actually trying to get it back... and you guys are WAAAY more helpful than the mustang forums... that being said. I'm sitting in a 1965 I6 Mustang Coupe. EH. its alright. i prefered the 75' maverick i had before. but here's my issue. i'm not so new to this whole car fixing thing. but i'm super new to carburetors. i attempted to rebuild the holley 1940 single barrel carb on my mustang. put it back on... and when i start the car... its REVVING at like 6000 rpms. i dont have a tachometer for specifics... but thats where its sounding its at. HELP. i have nooo idea whats up. or whats going on, or what i did. if you need pics, ask, and i'll take em and post em. thanks again guys. you always answer my silly questions.
fast idle cam... hmmm. not so good with the names. just good with matching pictures. could you tell me which one that is? :/
is that also on the instructions that came with it? cuuuz that paper is missing. it was like 2 months ago and i can't find it anywhere. :/
If it's reving instantly to 6 grand, the accleerator linkage is stuck wide open. Work with the linkage before starting it to find where it's sticking.
Yup, and it's always the simple things that'll get your goat. He admitted he knew nothing about carbs, that ought to be the first clue.
