Dan, do a turbo setup!! A turbo EFI small block would be the king of drivability AND killer power. You could run 9s in a Maverick without too much trouble (well at least have the power to run 9s, the rest is up to you ;) ) and still get decent mileage and good drivability. Not sure how keen you are on EFI, and it does require tuning time and a dyno. But once its right its so right.. :D

Yeah, the RIDE!!! No other motor is going in my project but a big block Ford. Roberts car really got me back to basics. No replacement for displacement. Roberts car hits it and hits it hard. Launches like he has made a couple hundred passes with it. To say I am impressed would be an understatement. Thanks Robert!!! was great to see ya, and was good to talk with some real gearheads live and in person.

Thanks Dan....the battery helped but I think I still have a plug breaking down....will change them out tomorrow.......we will have several maverick gear heads to figure it out:D Jim Larson(purple 70) made it here just before 9 as did Matt and Mark.......John Ford is in Rolla and will be here in the morning.
