I've heard multiple opinions both ways that sounded fair to me, so i decided i would go to the Maverick/Comet Fanatics for their advice.
Every time i check the oil warm it shows less than when it is cold, making sense since the oil spreads around while it runs and there would be less on the dipstick...
however, Which should i use when determining whether or not to put more oil in my car...Still warm, or should i let it cool off?
Also, I dont know a lot about cars, About how much would 1 quart of oil add to the dipstick reading?

    Thanks!

Sludge buildup in the oil return holes in the head can cause oil to collect in top of the engine. Over time it will drain back down.

Wait until the engine is cold. That is the recommended and its in the owners manual. I use 10-30. I think its better than a straight weight oil.

New Holland or Motorcraft oil Filter. Paired with 5 quarts of 10w40, what I run. :)
