electric fan questions

    1970 Maverick 302 painted Bahama Blue Metallic.
    i just installed a electric fan and have a few question.... so "what if" im no saying i did but if you reversed the wires from positive to negetive will the fan spin in the oppisite direction and work properly.... it should right? i dont see why not....:huh:

    As a brushed motor, it will spin backwards. Unless they use polarity protection in the there. If it did spin backwards, and the blades were not designed for that, they might cavitate and not move air at all. Or if it was designed to be reversible, it will move just as much air in the reverse direction.

    Wires should be color coded or the plug should be marked + and -. Some won't run in reverse, you'll burn out the motor if it's hooked backwards......

    Blowing hot air through the radiator is not the best way to cool the engine
