So many better Canadian bands. I went to high school with a guy, that during the summers he lived with his Aunt, and cut Neil Peart's grass...we were going to drive up there and spray it with something to kill it...and that 20+ years ago... I never liked Rush.
Rush sucks. Their bass lines were respectful, but their final product was less than desired. Boston Foreplay, Stranglehold would hold my attention. But I tend to cruise with reggae.
Runnin' Down a Dream, Tom Petty ...mainly because lately, it running is a dream! Good driving tune tho...
Usually alice in chains, queens of the stone age or megadeth...The cult sneaks in here and there. Just the loud obnoxious songs. Stranglehold is in every vehicle i own and my i-pod tho. Thats the last thing i listen to before i walk in to work everyday! Gotta get the angry game face on you know? LOL
the sound of a 5.0/302 thru a set of 40 series flowmasters, banging thru the gears! i do have a full 4 speaker system and sony xplod cd player that is fully functional, but never used lol
Queens of the stone age! I forgot about them. Oh and if any of you think that I actually have more than the stock am radio that isn't even hooked up to a speaker you are sadly mistaken. That is all the Maverick has, sad huh? I was just thinking today of how I love to cruise with a good power song. Like Motley Crue's 'Home Sweet Home'. Dang, I'm going to have to get an ipod for the car!
I haven't driven mine in awhile.... But I have a tape that i used to listen to when I was six, It's all Tesla on Side A, (Wonderful World, Games People Play, Little Suzie, Try So Hard, Call it What You Want, Song and Emotion, What You Give, The Way It Is(Partial)), and Side B, Tesla-"The Way It Is", "Love Song", "Paradise", U2-"Mysterious Ways", Ozzy-"Mama, I'm Coming Home", The Presidents of the United States-"Peaches", "Dune Buggy". That is the ONLY tape I'll listen to while i'm working on it, and I plan on having a cd with the same track list for the maiden voiage when I get the 5.0L EFI conversion complete.
This goes back a bit ... Ronnie Montrose's band Gamma (1980-1984?) was always on in my White Comet, back in the day. A lot of Zep, too. The music played in that car is a very solid part of the fond memories I have of it. I always have some good (if not obscure) guitar stuff playing in anything I drive. Regarding Rush ... I love and totally respect that band. This is coming from the perspective of playing guitar and bass. They have some really complicated stuff that is a blast to keep up with, and are a great workout. On the other hand, Red Barchetta, and a lot of the stuff that actually got played on the radio are prime songs that will make me skip right to the next track.
Sly and the Family stone "Everyday people" That song has alaways reminded me of Mavericks... Sounds so 70's but came out in 1968
No radio here either, just an X-pipe with dumped Dynomax race bullets and a Detriot locker that drives everyone nuts, me included.
