I have a 73 Maverick that I bought with an aftermarket HEI distributor and I want to put a stock distributor that has the pertronix module instead of points.
The HEI distributor has only one wire going from the engine's electrical harness to the distributor cap. Then the cap has a conector with 3 wires going to the bottom of the distributor.
The stock distributor has 2 wires coming from the bottom. One is red and the other one been black.
I need to know where I would connect this wires to and once I get a coil, how I need to wire it.
    thanks for the help!

OK and then How do I run power to the coil??
Since the HEI dist. had no external coil and I have to use one, Where do I get power to the coil and do I need to get ground for it as well?

If you look at the second page of the link I provided above. the coil gets it's power from the igntion switch and is grounded by the Pertronix.
