It's been a while since I ve seen another Maverick onthe road and actually followed him to try and talk to him. I saw a 70-72 yellow Maverick with Torq Thrust D wheels and a black tail panel. I saw it get on the freeway when I got on and I went a mile out of my way until he got off the freeway. It was rush hour traffic so even on the surface streets I couldnt get next to him. I Followed anohter mile or so out of my way but he seemed to be in a hurry at every green light so I gave up my chase. I used to do this quite often to find another Maverick owner, dont see too many anymore.l
The mystery Mav was probably racing to get out of the 115 degree heat! He probably saved you from getting caught by a speed Camera anyway Ryan This only reinforces the idea that Maverick and Comet owners love these cars enough to do this. I have been guilty of pulling over to check out a parked Maverick, all to the embarrassment of the owner coming out of the restaurant, wondering what in the world I am doing! It makes you wonder sometimes...what percentage of these cars are around in good condition, that are not associated with these forums? I'm sure there are some very nice ones out there.
This website definitely needs a member map like the Pinto site I belong to has. Maybe we should make cards with our site address on them so we can put them on the wipers of Maverick/Comets we find. There are a bunch running around here and only 2 are confirmed members.
Who ever has that map keep movin my pin. Was missouri. Then oklahoma. Off to texas. About to move to ohio.
A TON! I've told around so many people about this forum but only 2 actually got on here. The other 30-40ish haven't.
I guess to some their Maverick is Just A Car. the one I chase recently looked like it was being fixed up, although not in bad shape at all. If you really want to find out who is all around you and on this board then watch the location in people posts. If they are near you then tag them and add to your contact list. Send out PMs and try to get them togethor. Ive done this and collected about 40 members in my area on my contact list. Many dont have pics of their car posted so I cant tell if the car I chased belings to a member here.
I've been guilty of stopping at multiple Mavericks as well, I've actually gone to a house and knocked on the door to talk to the guy about a Maverick sitting in his driveway which I tried to buy off of him (Unfortunately it was his son's car, I never heard back.)
