OK, today we set the 351C in the chassis, C4 in place, no exhaust manifolds.

Question, has anybody here done this engine combo? IF so what did you use for manifolds or headers? And did you have to cut anything anywhere to do so? It is tight for either I know, but really, really do not want to cut it up at all.

Suggestions, or more helpful tried and true solutions.

    Thanks!

p.s. It is the 351C or we are back to a 302/306/331 if cutting is required.

It should be fine, only 351 windsors are hard to fit,

Before I went nuts and installed a Mustang II set up, I had my Cleveland installed in the stock engine bay. I used headers from Tubular Automotive and the headers scraped the inside of the un-trimmed shock towers. Motor mounts and trans mounts were no problem. Changing plugs was a real tight job. I understand that cast exhaust manifolds are possible but have no real info on using them. I would at least shave back the shock towers if I had to do it all over again :)

What heads are on it ? 2 bbl or 4 bbl ? That's going to be the first determining factor in picking headers. The 2 are not interchangeable when it comes to header flanges

I run the tubular automotive headers in my maverick with the Boss 302, I have seen the 351C headers, and they fit the same way, the rear two tubes cross over each other to the opposite collector, I also used hedman hustlers, and I am almost positive they made a set for the cleveland also.

Sounds like it will fit with headers. I set it in and there is very little room to negotiate anything. Yes, I know that 2V and 4V manifolds are not interchangeable, on either side of the head. The test fit engine is a 2V motor with a 4V intake, aluminum with FORD part number, that I found interesting and nice to know all at the same time. Part number started with D1ZX, so that to me is 1971 Mustang and that is the first time I have seen a part with X as the 4th digit. Will have to look that up.

Will pursue the Cleveland more as one comes available for purchase. I only 'borrowed' the one we used for fitting.

    Thanks, all!!

You've got a Boss 351 intake there. Good stuff.
