    Could be an exhaust leak.

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
How did you replace the muffler, bolt off or cut off?
In the past when I've used a saw saw to cut off a muffler the vibrations have cracked the donut gasket on the manifold.
    Which causes an exhaust leak.

    I'd check that out.

X 2 :Handshake Remove the air cleaner and with the motor running at a high idle, pour a little automatic trans fluid into the carb throats, this'll produce smoke in the exhaust you can see and should come out where the leak is.
