Wow,,we have twins!!! lol,,, I am lucky to have found a solid car like this. Thanks Jim!! Now to move the springs in has not been planned out yet completely. The initial thought is to move the springs into the inside section of the rear subframe. It is a gain of only a couple of inches or so at the most on each side. But when you consider that in the equation of what percentage it increases the wheelhouse, then it is significant. Then add to the fact of increasing the wheelhouse,, which is unknown to me at this time. Well I could probably put a pretty big tire in there I am thinking. I was thinking of backhalving the car, but I want to make the mods more in the line of what me, the average guy can do at home with the tools I have. Also, this car is solid, and I dont want to cut up a good car. So keeping with a stock appearing theme, though heavily modified is what I am going after. I am going to get under the car tomorrow and get a plan of attack. Dan ps,, I am surfing every suspension website I can find tonite to get ideas on what I can do, I must admit, the best info for moving the rear leafs has come from a chevy website that deals with camaro's,,, stealing ideas is not against the rules is it?
Dan I might suggest woody's fairlane site and also check out Crites Restoration(sp?) they offer it for the fairlanes so you should be able to look at it there.....me I think I will stay with the ladder bars you really need to get back down this way on company buisness and stop by the shop if and when you are down this way I could bring mine to work so you could check it out as you can tell I think I had way to much fun today
Robert, I am going to be down that way sometime this month,, would be most cool to see you and your car. Got under my stallion today,, bringing the leafs in is really very simple, think I need to look at your car before I get my plan totally together. I will let you know when I am going to be down that way for sure. Dan
Cool Dan, looks like a great start to another project! sounds like a good plan on the project also, Ilike the way you are thinking
