 I raced a viper today pulled him till a little after the 1/4. Then he went by me like a turd floating in the punch bowl. I was shocked. I thought such a "super car" would walk all over my low 12 second mav. Then I looked up the 1/4 times online and was surprised they varied from low 12 to mid 13 depending on the viper model. Mavericks Rule and Vipers drool......

Thats awesome. It'd be cool getting it on tape you beating a viper in the 1/4. talk about bragging rights.

A little of topic, but didn't CometGT1974 (Stephen) race a Viper once, win, and then get pulled over by a cop?

To answer about CometGT1974's affair with a Viper, yes he did. He beat the tar out of it wholesale, but the NC Highway Patrol had a different spin on the whole thing. Funny how they didn't have much of a sense of humor about it.....:slap:

The NC Highway Patrol doesn't have a sense of humor about squat.
They will chase you until their pistons pop through the hood.

Been there done that one time too often, to the tune of 7 charges
on 3 tickets!! It was not funny.

True that. Racing at the track has gotten to be like a freakin chore. There is no fun or excitement . You wait way to long to get a run. There is always an ******* there to dis your ride. Bracket racing sucks. i say bring what you brought and hope you brung enough. I still think classes are a good idea. Just needs to be heads up. Then again I do like seeing the big guns being beat by a 17 second car cause they are more consistant. Which is way easier to do since traction would not be a problem along with many other variables that come into play when having a fast ride. I will keep on street racing as safe as i can. Not saying it is right but the tracks are way to political. I say keep is super simple. At a Track racing has gotten stagnant. JMO:cool:

Forgot to add not everybody wants thier car to look like a race car. I for one like a middle of the road look. Not stock but not having 3 inch studs etc..

Just come to the round-up next year......there is NEVER a wait, run as often as you like.
I am sure we could get enough takers and have a "heads-up" race at the track. We could run a couple different classes to make it fair......6 banger class, 302 class, stroker class and power adder class.
    Hey! I could compete in a heads-up 6 banger race.........now that is a thought.

True but how many times do u see a ricer out there. Besides in a bracket race you have a good idea of what the other person is packing or the speeds he runs. On a street you dont have a clue a lot of times which makes it even more fun in the end if u find out the person had some serious power under the hood and u still won....

The silly lowered Honda crowd has been showing up at the races more and more all year. I'm happy to see them there instead of out running over each other trying to re-create the fast and the furious.
Blipping the throttle a bit leaving a stoplight is one thing, but lining up and going at it full throttle on the street is dangerous, stupid and negligent.

I'd say that even though it's illegal, the stoplight-to-stoplight thing is really not all that unsafe and decides real quick which is the quicker car. Now the high-speed 100mph crap on the public roads is just plain irresponsible and causes death and permenant injury. Not cool...
