Have to put a return spring on the carb...

anybody ever made something custom for their carb? Pictures? I need ideas..

I am not a fan of the flimsy chrome brackets or exposed springs, they are just ugly on my clean engine. I fabbed up a light spring hidden in polished aluminum round tube that i used to run with, but lost it. Just getting the ole' noggin spinning...:tiphat:

I was taught to use compression springs for throttle return. Those tension type springs can break or wear through the retailers. My throttle return spring is on the throttle rod. the rear stop is bolted to the intake and the front stop is on the shaft. As the rod is pulled back the spring compresses returning the throttle to a closed position with just enough pressure to fully seat the throttle on the stop. The linkage is designed so it hits the fire wall at exactly WOT. this keeps from stressing the linkage and the throttle shaft. The pedal also hits the floor as the thottle reaches WOT.

got lazy and modified a return spring bracket and spring from a holley that mounts to base of carb instead of using the intake.. its a little cleaner.
