I have a 1973 4dr with the 302 V8. The exhaust system is pretty smashed up from the exhaust manifolds back. I am planning to replace the exhaust in about a month. I was quoted $275 for a dual exhaust, or $195 for a single exhaust. I'm just wondering which one would be better for hp and torque. Any comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jonathan
i just ran 3"duals from the headers all the way back to the valance.look and sound great.go for the duals!
duals. just be sure to use either an H pipe or an X pipe. it will balance the side -to - side pulses, which smoothes out the tone and usually helps bottom end torque.
Duals. And don't worry about going over 2.25 inch in pipe size. On stock or near stock motors, it will probably reduce your torque to go adding 3 inch pipes. Seth
Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm going to go with duals. I really want the engine to have a free flowing exhaust so I can build up the engine later. Thanks for all the input. Jonathan
