When I'm shifting, my trans sticks in 2nd. My fluids are good, the linkage's are close but not touching. What can be the solution, I'm tired of getting out of my car everytime it sticks, I'm holding up traffic!

just realized you have a stick shift. usually its a worn out bushing in the linkage.

I know its not a permant fix but, when my trans was slipping and having a hard time winding up to go in gear, I put a bottle of trans fix in it and it helped.

I figured out the problem. My car had a three on the tree that was converted to floor by me The plate that goes onto the 2nd and 3rd gear nob is at such a angle that when you leave it in 2nd its past the 180 degree and it is difficult to overcome that level plane, so I'm going to have to manufacture a arched piece.

Well, it wasnt what I thought it was! The cheapo universal shifter that I bought wasnt tight enough and kept popping itself out of alignment. Problem fixed, insurance updated, oil changed, points checked and is back on the street. Man, did I miss my Comet over the winter.:burnout:
