Just buy a new wheel cylinder. You won't feel any difference in braking power in going from drums to discs in the rear to justify the expense. New wheel cylinders are what, about $20 ?
I agree w/ those who say, just buy new whl cylinders. Along w/ the cylinders, new hoses and put the money in front disk if you don't already have them; that's where the majority of the braking is done.
ive already completely rebuilt the front end, everything is new and i wouldnt be paying for the kit its a present so why not! haha since ill be in that area one of my friends is saying i should upgrade and get a 3.75 ring and pinion that itll give me better acceleration. is that true or should i just leave it all alone?
Not much point in a front drum/rear disc car, even if the parts are free. As mojo already posted, most of the braking job is done with the front brakes, you're not going to gain anything in just doing a rear disc swap. It's your money and time though. (yea it IS going to cost you something, even if the parts are free)
yeah i just bought it i want to take apart everything in the rear any ways cause i wanna learn about it so why not replace everything if its only gonna cost me my time which ill gladly give cause i love learning about this stuff lol
for sure! will do i just ordered all the parts just need to order shocks and bushings for the new leaf springs ))
