I have a 1974 maverick with a 260. I took the Carb off to be rebuilt and noticed that the plate that the carb is mounted to as well as the EGR valve is cracked. Where can I find a replacement for this and can it affect emissions cracked as it is? The car is in Arizona and they dont use the rollers to check emissions, Its just the idle and such. Any advise?
i think your best bet would be to search some junk yards in your city. then just take what you need off of any ford car with the same size engine.
my 74 comet w/250 just has the hole plugged w/ jb weld ....... we don't do emissions in my county so that might not help you though ........Robert:confused:
I have a EGR spacer if you want to buy it name you`r price + shipping . If you look in a junk yard it will be the same on the 200 too, You might try looking at a granada (is that how you spell it?) or farimont (spelling again) good luck
on my ol' ford truck my father just put a plate over the port for the egr, with no diffrence in performance, this is fl though with no emission tests
