Hi, I am putting a 1968 c-4 and 302 in my 64 Comet, the block spacer I have is solid, no extra holes like the other one I have that is for the larger flywheel, do I need to have the extra holes or window for......? Thanks Dave
The only difference between an auto and manual is that on a manual trans there is normally no cutout on the bottom of the plate. This will not allow you to put the nuts on the torque converter studs. other than that there is none. You can use a auto plate on a manual but not the other way around.
I used a manual one on a auto one time because that was all I had. Had to cut a section out to get to the torque converter nuts. Wasn't pretty, but it worked.....
The block plate has to match the bellhousing that you use. If the bell is for the 164 tooth flex plate the starter location is different. Make sure they math or you will not get the starter to mesh properly.
Yea, the first one I had was for the 164t got it almost together before I noticed the starter problem. P.O. ran it for around 50 miles with out a spacer. Got it together and hope to install it later this week. Thanks Dave
