I believe the one I used is the Fel-Pro neoprene for our application. Only added sealant (Motorcraft TA-30 from Ford) in the corners at the rear main and front cover and it's dry as a bone. Plus, it has the metal stops moulded in to prevent overtorquing.

Couldn't use the 5.0l gasket with the hard sides due to the fluted pan rails on the old 302 oil pan.

The part number you listed Rick is for the one piece neoprene gasket with the steel embedded in it. Autozone has better prices on that then Oreilly does. I remember now that when I got one before that Autozone was cheaper even with my discount at Checker/Oreillys. the $28 seems high but if thats the only price they gave you then they didnt tell you there was a $12 option too but get the $28 gasket, its well worth it.

no sealant needed with that gasket. But like Injected mav said, it may be a good idea to put a dab on the corners where it hits the curve to go over the front and rear humps.

Almost like the local bar after work, without the DUI and mad wife when you get home late... :mischeif:

In asddition to this, I would also use the 5.0 pan's pan rail stiffeners and bolts too. Just extra insurance against bending the pan rails and cauisng leaks from that too.
