Grabber hood scoops

    I recently removed the scoops from my hood and noticed what seemed like some kind of dried up rubber or something in the nuts that hold the scoops in place...or maybe it was just dried up dirt. Any ideas? I'm wondering if I need to do anything with them before I put them back on? :hmmm:

    Probably some sort of sealer, although I dont know why ford would seal the nuts, when they didnt seal the scoop itself. It still allows water into the engine compartment and onto the engine. Hard to keep things nice that way. I am still trying to come up with a way to seal them babies.

    The speed nuts they used had sealer in them, just use some dum dum.

    dum dum ?? How about plumbers putty?

    Ive alaways used a little bit of clear silicone on them... seals it and keeps the nut from backing off.
