i have a 75 mercury comet 302. I just changed my power steering control valve but its still very heavy to turn the wheels, their is fluid in it but wont hold. I think it might be the PS pump?

Can anyone help me please, im trying to get the car ready for this summer....

I wud look at the PS pump next. Did u say u have fluid leaking from the system? U can buy a rebuild frm some vendors like Rock Auto or have it rebuilt frm a source in Ohio for abt $60.00. If u need the info on the rebuild source I can fwd it ur way. BTW - I live in the south suburbs of Chicago.

That sounds like a great idea. Please forward me the OHIO Info for the rebuilds.

So you live in the suburbs of Chicago? So we are neighbors huh...By the way do you know Jason? Just a question because he said he has an in-law that has a comet

I don't know anyone w/ a Comet. I have only seen one in this area since I got mine in July 09. I saw one in a shop "Red's Point" near my house on 127th. and Halsted. It was red also. I have been told that a guy had one in Midlothian Il. righht off of I-57 and 147th. I was also informed that the car was sold. I never saw that car.

We like pictures here on the forum. How abt posting some?
I think u have to have at least 10 post to put pix up.
    U in Chicago or surburb?

Yes . Use Type F trans fluid. that's what Ford called for. it's worked for 35 years.

Yes-sounds right. Type F trans fluid. OK - on the Midway Airport. Maybe we hook-up sometime. I go to several cruize-in/gatheings in the Chgo region. Do you drive ur car or is it for competition?

No, no competition car. I just drive it at nights, sometimes during the day. im going to try to fix my power steering first cause it gets hard sometimes, it would get loose when i step in the gas though. im going to clean it and hope i see the leak.

    We should meet sometime.
