This goes out to anyone that has purchased a Vintage Air ac/ heat unit for your Maverick.

Which one did you buy? Part number please? How did it fit behind the dash?

Considering this route, not sure yet.

I haven't, but I think Mavaholic bought one for his Comet GT. From his pics, looked like it fit pretty good.

I downloaded the instructions and specifications from their website. The GenIV system was what I was looking at and it looked like it would have plenty of clearance. I also would like some info so hopefully you'll get some feedback.

Yes, I'm pretty sure Mavaholic bought one. I'm just not sure how far along he is with the project.

I am looking at the GenII right now. It's right around $500 from summit. It's a very small unit so I think it will fit fine. If someone has some info as to why GenIV might be better I would be curious as well (sorry, hope I'm not hijacking)

I put a Gen III universal in mine, On a "do-over", I would definitely upgrade to the Gen IV just for the controls. The fit was good, much easier to fab mounting brackets with the dash out, and you will need to fab them as the brackets that come from V.A. are too flimsy. I ran all my lines through the fenderwell so very little shows under the hood. I've got a bunch of pix I can zipfile for you if you e-mail me...

Yea, I sort of hi-jacked it too, but I think we're all looking for the same thing. I personally like the GenIV better for the stepper motor controls and infinite adjustment controls. It does cost more and you have to buy the controls separately. I have some experience with the system as a derivative of this system is used on the Ford GT. I would like to get as much input as possible from anyone who has any experience with these system or just opinions of the pros and cons.:Handshake
