I can't beieve with that setup you are in the "HIGH" 15's... I have a mild cam, Eldebrock intake and carb, 2.79:1 gears and a 4 speed and I al in the very low 15's like 15.1, 15.2 and my best ever was a 15.02. I am crossing the finish in 3rd gear and IIRC my M.P.H was in the high 80's low 90's.

I am not sure what my cam is compare to yours because it was already in the car when I bought it but it has a VERY mild lope to it and idles relatively smooth compared to some cams I have seen and heard.

I am going to have my gears done one of these days and with the 4 speed manual I think I am going to stay around 3:55 or 3:73,3:80.
If you drive your's on the road at all I think I would stay away from the 4:11's
There are a few guys that have them and like them for around town driving but I can say that most people that I have talked to that went to a 4:11.1 ran them for a little while and then stepped up to a 3:55 or 3:80

:Welcome:to the board. Always nice to see another Comet. I have 3:55 gears & a 2500 rpm converter. I drive on the highway & around town. My quickest time was 14.40 @ 95 mph in the 1/4 mile. You can see my stats on this board... When the weather is nice, I drive mine daily....

Yes. But I'm a mile above sea level, and the weather here is usually very hot. We'll see how much the gears help. I think I will go with the 3.80s after all, with 26 x 9 x 15 Hoosier slicks on my Weld draglites. Stall will be next on the list. I'll pick up a 3xxx stall.
