    The shift indicator on my 1972 Maverick V8 says P R N D 1 is this right.

Is it a column or a floor shift?

Is there a green dot on it?

Could this be the shift-o-matic or whatever the manual valve cars were?

Thanks guys. Found the problem. The former owner must have had a hard time seeing the indicator and put larger sticky numbers and letters in place of the right ones.Instead of P R N D 2 1 he put P R N D L. There was no room to put in the 2.I new it was a C4 3 spd auto but thought nothing of it till someone brought it to my attention. Thanks again. Weird things happen with old cars.
