okies the engine compartment is done... now all i need is a freaking fuel sender so i don't have to cut up my harness. someone find me one!!!!

but here are the pics... i just shoved a b4 pic in there so show the differance. just need to put the rest of the fender bolts in and done!

i went a little crazy with the chroming... air cleaner top, all brackets (smog pump, alternator, power steering, throtle cable) and pulleys, fender braces and shock towers are chromed. i polished the, fan spacer, water pump and all the smog crap that came on the car... along with the horn.. lol.... You can see the close ups of the pulley on this other post
    http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=9503&highlight=pulley

the only thing not stock is i put a MSD blaster coil on it w/an MSD6A. 8mm Pertronix Wires, Cool Flex radiator hose, Earl's Fuel Filter and Fuel line with AN fittings, a 3 core radiator with a Flex-A-Lite 6 blade fan and a V8 fan shroud (just so you guys know the stock V8 fan will fit with a 6cyl.. i know someone was asking that.)

like i was telling some of you the gas tanks in too! so someone find me a fuel sender so i can start this thing!!!! and if it dont start then oh well.. at least it looks good...lol

let me put it this way.. i vowed to never end up being one of those guys that has a car sitting in his driveway for year on end and says "i'm gonna restore it one day" like two of my neighbors... ones a vette rotting away and the other is a mustang.

give me the ranchero.. i need a tow car!

my gas tank to trunk rubber seal came in today. when i get the right sender it should be ready to start!!!! then the tranny comes out.. shift kit light stall converter and i want this thing to run no later then october!!!!

i might have another project comming my way. we have a 68 ford 500 with a 300 Isix 3 on the tree within the family that needs to be restored.. so for a change maybe something else will be in the drive way. anyone know anything about these cars?

We got the Ranchero to tow my kids Jr. Dragster. Well, the dragster is long gone and it was only in the Ranchero twice. The engine has been on the stand for two years now. 3 weeks ago we pulled it into the garage and started disconnecting stuff. Havent touched it since. Wish I had your motivation. Man I get home from work (when I'm in town) and all I wanna do is sit still. How 'bout a engine pull and install party. I'll BBQ for all that show up. With friends around I get motivated.

When do you want to do it? I live in San Diego but am always up for a good road trip. (y)

I am stipping the paint from my '70 this weekend and next week so I can deliver a clean body to the guy who is straightening the door dings and smoothing everything out before painting it. He is an oldfashioned body man who straightens the metal with almost no body filler required. Just the way I like it. :)

After the body is smooth and in primer, it goes to AutoPower in San Diego for a custom 8 point roll cage and to have the subframe connectors installed.

Back to the body shop for paint and reassembly of the doors, fenders, etc. to set gaps and make it look right.

Then I can finally start putting it back together with all the parts I have been buying for the past year. :) With luck, it will be on the road early spring next year.
