For my first post I have a question about a Maverick I am picking up this Saturday.

We are purchasing a '72 Grabber for my wife who learned to drive in a '72 302 Mav.

I have a deckover trailer with a dovetail.

It has 67" ramps and a 5' dovetail.

I know the Mav will make it up the ramp but not sure if it will clear the angle where the dovetail meets the flat bed.

    My trailer is a top brand but is similar to;

Don't have a Mav available to try.

    What do you guys think.

    Thanks

Just take a few 2X4s with you in case it is too steep. If it gets close back the car up and put them under the back tires so it will raise it up. You should be fine.

I agree. Get it on as far as you can and if it looks like it's going to hit stick a board under the rear wheels. Go as far as you can again and stick 2 under if you need it. Should be okay IMO.:)

yep, bring some 2x4 or 2x6 boards. remember to strap the crap out of the car.
some states require x strapping vehicles, which is a good idea anyhow.
    good luck, drive safe

    Thanks.

    No more pics yet.

Pulled her into the garage, drained the 7 year old mix of water and gas (it's been stored in a garage since '04), installed a new fuel filter, 6 plugs and an air filter. Turned motor over with fuel line in an old mason jar until we got nice clean gas and fired her up. Purrs like a kitten.

Won't take fuel very well, so i assume it's got a bad accelerator pump. Don't know whether to rebuild carb, or not (do they still make a carb rebuild kit?). Will ultimately start on V-8 but would like to drive it when the weather clears up. Already started on 5 lug, 4 wheel disc swap.

    fun-fun

Is that the one from Ohio? That should be a nice car, it had alot of paperwork with it. Some stuff I've never seen, maybe you can show us some of it in detail?

I'd like to think it's "The One" ...

I picked it up in St.Clairsville, Ohio.

The seller did have some interesting paperwork from the original owner in Wheeling WV.

Where did you see the paperwork?

    Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner ...

Friend of mine who owns a diesel shop in Ohio told me about it.

Paper work shown in that link is exactly what i have.

Which paperwork would you like me to show clearer?

Ebay auction got shut down two hours before it ended because he included "any fair offer", someone complained and Ebay pulled the auction.

I called him at just the right time apparently.
