There is a Maverick Stallion for sale locally, but it is painted all orange. Is there any way to id it off the vin, like the grabber was? He listed it as a 75, but I do see that it has the 76 split type grille in it. I'll report back later on it when I actually see the car.

It's been for sale for a while. I wondered if it was real or not too.

What makes you think it is a Stallion?

You can check the vin for the date and if it is a 75 then in my understanding it can't be a stallion. I think they were produced in 76 only. That divider in the grill is just a plastic piece that clips on to the grill. I took mine off. I think it looks beter without it.

I guess it could be a 76 that was produced in late 75, but.......??

Find out the paint code, that will give you a start.
If it was, someone went to a lot of work to change it's appearance, what color is the interior?

I see absolutely nothing that tells me that car is or was a Stallion.

I finally got by & checked out the car. It is really not a Stallion, it had no former id marks of any kind, no black interior or black paint anywhere, just tan & orange. Right now it is painted orange & it has a tan interior. I checked the trunk pan & area around the filler tube & it's a tan color. It is a 76 model though w/VIN 6K91L105504 with color code "6UHT" & TRIM "BU" TRANS C4 CODE "W" & AXLE "3" 2.79 ratio. The car is a PHX, AZ car w/DSO 75 & it had a 250 6(now a 302), now has a floor shift hurst shifter & bench seat, it did have the Magnesium 5 spoke mags originally the owner said-has them on his 72 Mustang. The Mav has some weird Torque Thrusts on it now. The car is rust free-like most az cars; very straight. Originally had a/c(no compressor now) & has p/s with the manual disc brakes. The guy wants $1800 his name is Juan & if anyone wants to call for more info his # is 602-274-1594 & it's on Phx, Az craigslist.
