Hay Dave, my car is a lot sharper than the link for b-j. No kidding.
When i take it out on the street i have people asking wherre i got the paint job. They freak when i tell them its original. I think that is what this car has that no other one does. Ill keep posting pictures as i do the detailing.
Should i be building this engine with more ponys than what i had planned on? I dont know what that might do to the value if i do put it in the auction.
The reason i would put it in the auction is because i think it would be a blast but i dont want it to cost me and loose my high school car. K
    Keep the oppinions coming

zigzag....are you saying YOU are in high school?

I don't know for sure, but I would say just to run a car thru Barrett-Jackson is probably around $1000...not counting the costs to get the car there.

    I wish.
My understanding of barret-jackson is they get 10% of the sale. My worry is it goes for way to low and i have to buy it back at another 10%.
Its like farming, its a big gamble

If you like or love the car and it has any sentimental value you will be very dissapointed in the amount of money it will bring. I don't think you will get any more money out of it if you put more ponies in it, unless you go all out with 4 wheel disc, maustang II front with rack and pinion, and a 9" rear. then you really will be way to deep into it to break even. Remeber its not a Mustang, wont get close to mustang money, and will cost more to do the same upgrades than it would on a mustang. If your dead set on selling it then put it on ebay until you get your reserv. Atleast then you will know what people are willing to spend on it, which will tell you what its worth.

I like that idea ryan. I dont like the car that much (driving wise). I like that it has been in my life for almost 40 years and that it turns heads
It drives like an original comet. No power stearing breaks and no suspension. with the responses im getting (thanks all) i might go ahead and muscle it, try the ebay thing even though that isnt nesesarily were the big spenders go, see where it goes and then ill probably keep it for a sunday driver.
I have never been a car guy, no experiance with engines and performance, so ill probably be asking a lot of questions about what to do. I appreciate everybodys input.
Any suggestions about rebuilding the engine to get the most out of it would be much appreciated. add ons or whatever. Cam? I dont want to put $5000 into blue printing or such but i dont mind spending a little cash. Or credit card. he he

I think that's a very nice car just the way it is. Just need to add the personal touches that make it yours. :)
