New member in NJ. Have monitored this forum for many years and finally joined! Just completed the 5-year build of my 1971 Pro Street Maverick. Also owned and drag raced a 1974 Comet in the 80's and 90's. I May be of some help to members doing heavy modification to their Maverick/Comet.
from Northeast Pennsylvania - what part of Jersey are you from? What a beatuful car - would really enjoy seeing some of the build photos especially suspension work I like "HEAVY MODIFICATIONS"
reply Bob, I'm from Southern NJ, Cumberland County. i attached a couple suspension shots during construction, frame and suspension was fabbed from Alston Chassisworks parts. Dave
YEAAAH! Another guy from Jersey! Welcome. What part of Jersey are you in. You did a GREAT JOB on that build!
Well Dave, you certainly got my attention We share a lot of the same concepts with our builds but, where you went all out drag, I'm still trying to accomidate the car for street cruising and the car show circuit. One thing you will find out here is we all like lots of photos
I just bought property out in Salem County. My car was done in Vineland. Your right around the corner. First show in the area is gonna be the one at the Salem Co fairgrounds at the end of March. An AACA meet. Maybe I'll see you there?
Bob, i'm working on insurance and will get QQ historic tags. The big ford is only 10:1 comp and runs on pump premium, will be on the street within 2 months. Yes, i will also drag race it!
sgaugeguy, i work in Vineland! Interior will probably not be done in time for Salem Co. show, but i will be at the May Vineland show. You also?
Welcome to the site, from eastern N.C. You definately have one of the nicer looking Mavericks. What kind of time slips do you have to share?
Stroker, finishing the wiring right now, will fire the motor soon. Should be racing by April or May, can't wait.
I will probably be there, I hit all of the local shows on the weekends. South Side Auto Body did all the body and paint on the car. I hang out there on Saturdays sometimes. You will have to pickup a copy of Crus'in News for all of the weekly shows. You can get a copy at Advance Auto parts off of the counter, there free.
