Hey Guys, I'm still trying to get my new 76 Maverick 2dr 250 automatic on the road. I am in the process of swapping the Transmission because its got no third gear. My question is is whats the proper way to get the parking brake cables out of the way so I can drop the trans? There is one cable that ties in the passenger side to the driver side, and it runs rite across with the trans support. I've never seen such a complicated parking brake system.

I wish someone would start reprinting a repair manual for the Maverick. I have looked everywhere, and can't find one.

I've got a setup out of a Pinto, with a Trans hump mounted pull handle. When I redo mine I'm replacing it with that. Much simpler setup.
