Driving through the not so nice side of town today we found a damn nice prospect for a project. This old girl has survived quite well, looks like original paint and very straight. I actually drove right by it and didn't see it, my wife pointed it out. I was focused on this..... As we drove right by this..... The Torino is one of three that the shop owner has. One is a GT Sportsroof with a 429, this one is a Cobra without any engine ID on the fender and he also has a 351 powered GT. The Grabber is across a side street in a fenced lot that used to be a storage facility. I have no idea how to go about finding out who owns it without hoping the fence and leaving a note. Couldn't get it if I wanted it anyway so I'll just enjoy the fact that it exists.
You guys in the Pacific Northwest just seem to have Mavericks everywhere. Why do I get the feeling, that seeing as it is up on a rollback, that the car is on its way to the land of Chinese toasters .............
Let's hope not! This area is home to rust free cars and this one showed no signs of it in the rear quarters. I may hit up the neighbors when we get back in town and see if they know anything about it. If it's gone I'll go by the scrap yard and hope I don't see it!
Sweet Mav!!! SHHHHHHHH!!!! You'd think there would be hardly anything left of old cars in Washington...but they're all over and for the most part solid through all the weather...no road salt!
And a note on the tow truck if there's no dogs and I agree you guys in the Pacific Northwest just seem to have Mavericks everywhere. And Pinto's too!
Hey If you get in touch with someone let me know I'm looking for one! Unless of course you want to keep it for yourself.
A few years ago, while driving from Sea-Tac to Tacoma on Interstate 5, I must have see a dozen or so old cars from the 60's - 70's era. My cousin told me that, if it snows, it's not much and it's gone the next day so they don't use any road salt - NICE
Well, on the way back into to town I found the flatbed was empty. There were people there so I asked and it turns out the guy that owned the Torino owned the Maverick. I'll have to go by their shop and inquire about it though, I'd like to get a good look at it.
