Godley`s Transmissions in Moultrie Ga. I`ve had one of their Reverse Manual c-4`s and a 3,800 converter In my car for going on 7 years now. Many Racers around the Southeast run Godleys stuff with Very Good results.

I emailed them and they have a c4 with reverse manual valve body and transbrake rated to hold 650hp for $1195. When I get the clip finsijed I plan to buy one

    C4 modifications

Hi JHodges. At the very minimum you will need a C4 unit out of a V8, there is no way that a unit out of a 6 cyclinder model will hold up. Also advisable
would be to install a heaver band for 2nd gear, this is available from most performance shops. The piston in the clutch drum assemblies should have every 3rd spring removed. This is where the V8 unit comes into play
because the piston is designed to hold additional clutch plates, more than the 6cyc transmission does. (More clutches and steels = longevity and better performance) Caution: If you are running a a cam with a lot of duration you must use a stall speed torque converter and to keep from shortning the life of the converter you need to run a 3:91 or lower ratio rear end ratio. Happy Racing
