E4OD in a Maverick?

    Not without a VERY big shoehorn!:biglaugh: I can't believe they would put this monster behind a 5.0 in a Bronco, talk about overkill! Just for reference I have it sitting next to the C4 out of my Maverick.

    cut out the tunnel, then put a saddle on it and ride it like a bull! it's about the same size. In fact, I can't think of anything I would put an E4OD in anyway. The stack of TSB's is as big as the truck it came out of...:rofl:

    I want a 70-73 Maverick
    The E4OD was a physically large Transmission but they weren't as strong as you might think.

    E4od? I thought it was a EAod. For electronic automatic over drive. I have one in my 72 and am happy with it.

    That would be an AOD-E...Predecessor to the monster E-40 OD.

    Actually the AOD, AOD-E and 4R70W are all in the same family. The gear trains will interchange in the different housings.
    IT's e4od not e40d.

    The 4R70 has a better gear set in it compared to the AOD and will handle more HP in stock form.

    From what I've read they made some major changes in 95. I was looking at one site and they stated they only accept 95 and newer cores. There's probably nothing wrong with this one but I never drove it so it's a boat anchor to me.
