this may sound dumb but do you have the battery hooked up backwards ?

why i ask this is because i barrowed a bat from a friend and just put it in as if it was my old battery but the post's wer swaped around and i put it on - to the + side and the + side on the - side

and yes it wuold kick over and when i would stop kicking it over it would sound like it wanted to fire up

long story short i bought the power fire dist insted of buying a new petronix kit:mad:

    full 12Vs...no ballast resistor
any coil will do...some people do use a...performance coil.

i don't understand the problems you are having...

...bolt in the plate...set air gap...hook up wires correctly...:thumbs2:

    did you remove the dist?

    ...:Handshake...

You may have a bad ignition switch on the steering column, try hot wiring the the car. Run a wire from positive terminal of battery and hook it to positive on coil then use a jumper wire and jump from positive post on starter solenoid to little post on the side that the starter wire from switch goes to, I believe it is the wire closest to the front of the car.

Make sure car is in park

    Hope this helps

You have to pull out the ballest or run a new wire. 7 is to low.
