Anybody running the Flo-Tek 5.0x heads? I'm not talking about the Floo-Teks, they are two different heads. I am hearing some good things about them, But I guess they have that low cost taboo to go along with them. If they would turn out to be good heads, I would buy a set for my '73. A little over $700.oo a set.
What the hay. Here's a place that sells them. $700.oo a set. EDIT: Due to potentially hadardous web sitewhich was tri-state cylinder heads. The new site is speedwaymotors.com http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Flo-T...eBase&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=GoogleBase
I wasnt going to give my opinion i just wanted to get a look at them. Dont go trying to hog all the deals

Here's a new site. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Flo-T...ads,46332.html?sc=WGB&utm_source=GoogleBase&u
Its 5 pages long but there seems to be some useful information in there. http://forums.vintage-mustang.com/v...ce-aluminum-heads-those-looking-good-buy.html If it was me and I was trying to decide between these and pro comps I would go with these. No matter what you decide on aluminum heads go through them yourselfs. No matter what brand they are, quality control is only as good as the guy looking at them and what type of day he is having. Casting is only as good as the cast...........
I wouldn't buy either, for $200 more you can get a set of Edelbrocks. Last month Summit was selling Twisted Wedges for under $1000.
I agree, I was just stating what I would do in that situation. I would rather save a bit longer and buy parts with an actual resale value that people will buy. Anjother good thread for the original subject. http://forums.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1191648&highlight=floo+tek
I don't believe anyone is worried about Procomp. I think the TWs came down for awhile to steal some of Edelbrock's E-Street business.
What makes them junk, besides being Chinese? Do you have some specific information that would classify them as junk? I'm all for staying away from junk, but not from good parts that are'nt made here. Would you buy them if they were Japanese or Australian? How about a forein drill, sander, t.v., computer, or stereo? Do you have any of those things that were made any where else other than here? I bought a Pertronix distributor, and the box says: "PLUG AND PLAY DISTRIBUTORS HAVE CAP, ROTOR, MODULE AND SPRINGS MADE IN U.S.A. WITH OTHER COMPONENTS MADE IN CHINA." That means that the distributor body, shaft, vacuum advance and gear is made in China. I thought Pertronix was an all American company, but........... I'll tell ya, I'm not a "jump on the bandwagon" kind of guy. A lot of people are quick to fallow the "status quo", and just say what every body else is saying, because of a certain items origin. CometGT74, I'm NOT saying that you are that kind of person, but I am saying sometimes people give a biased or prejidous opinion on something when they really have no concrete evidence or proof that something is the way they say it is. I'm just looking for facts. Give me proof that something is "junk", and I will steer clear of it. :Handshake
