I have a 73 ford maverick with a 200 i6. The oil pump went out. Does anyone know how to pull the pan without pulling the whole damn motor out? Ive tried taking the sway bar off and the cam or piston bracket things hit the back of the pan and will not let it come out. I think I need to remove a few bolts on the steering bars for it to come off. Does anyone know which one I should take off without pulling the engine and less work. Thanks.

I think you have to remove the radiator and starter and jack the engine up to allow the pan to clear the steering linkage. shop manual for mustang states to put blocks under the mount pads after jacking the engine for clearance so the jack can be removed while the engine is supported. Hope this helps, been about 22 years since I've done it on a 6 cyl.
