I am asking this because I have a set hanging in my shed, and I'm planning on putting a set on my '73 soon. Summit's website says that they do fit a 302 with column shift. What do you say?

Going to have to convert to a cable set up (custom) if you keep the column shifter.
It can be done useing the stock stuff if you are creative.

    I've been known to be.
You're talking about the Grenada cable set-up?

Yes the granada cable set up will work. If not put in a floor shifter and be done with it.

    No 'stock' column shift.

One member here bent, cobbled, and welded the hard linkage to work with his set.
Never saw it done before or since. This was years ago. Forgot who.

Heard of the Granada cable... seems like the trick if you must keep your column shift.

Theres a whole thread about the granada cable setup. It works, the hard part is swapping the stock bellhousing for a granada cable one.

I've got an old-school B&M shifter with the two finger holes in front of the shifter handle. I guess I could just put it in the old '73.

i don't mean to hijack the thread, but i would love to see your old shifter. i cant picture it from your description. if you have the time.

i have the 6901's but was not creative enough to make the stock linkage work. b&m mega-shift fixed that.

shorties do. Like hedman 88400 or doug thorley shorties. If you want long tubes you either have to swap to a gradana cable column shift setup. Or put in a floor shifter.

Summit also says that the 302 headers work on the 351 in a Maverick. It's that kind of thing that makes me ask questions, before I begin a project like my '73.
