I was going to do one for my Mav, but I found a 9" for it..... I have done them for a couple old Falcons I have had in the past..... Very easy conversion, I just put small 9"/8" ends on the 8.8 and used a set of 8" 28 spline axles with the drum brakes, and the regular 28 spline 8.8 trac loc..... Worked great both times.....

Yes they have to be cut down to the stack Mav width and offset and you put the 8"style housing end on it at the same time..... You will no longer be using c-clips either.....

I have one under my maverick right now. I just cut all the mounting tabs off and welded spring perchs on. It is about 1 inch wider per side so wheels will need deeper offset.

I have an 8.8 with discs I was going to sell. It has 4.10 gears and a track-lock. After reading this I might have to find someone to do the welding for me.
