hey guys, can I remove my AC box from the cabin without taking my dash out? I'm taking it out so I can get to those dash bolts without removing the windshield. The AC is already disconnected.
pull the blower housing off 1st by taking the 7/16 nut off and rotating it to the open slots then it slides off toward the drivers side.(remove floor ducts 1st) you can work the drain tube off if it isn't hardened by pushing off throught the floor opening and then retrieving it later from underneath. take the upper bracket loose and the under hood nuts, pull it toward the back of the car slightly and it rolls right out. Make sure you remove the side vent hoses before removing the blower housing.
Remove the nuts holding it to the firewall, and another screw or 2, on the inside of the car, and it should pull out.
Its cake, Three nuts in the on the firewall that have to be taken off from inside the engine bay. Theres a nut near the vent inlet for fresh air under the dash. Look for it straight up far left passenger side, follow the bracket on the box up to it. When pulling the unit you'll want to pull the firewall plug with the 3 vacuum lines. When you have the box out test the vacuum solenoids with a hand pump. I had 2 that where bad and they are a pain to find replacements. GL!
I got the bolts off but I guess it's hard pulling the unit out with the heater hoses still attached. Can I connect the two hoses together?
